I started my SAT journey with Sefia Tutors in 8th grade. At the time,
I did not understand why I had to start so early, but in hindsight, all the effort that was put in paid off. My test scores at every full practice test I took kept improving yearly.
Along with the analytical portions of the SAT test (especially the math sections), my time management skills were another major factor Sefia Tutors focused on. Honing that technique helped me maximize my test-taking potential by allowing me to properly allot the given time in order to effectively use the skills Sefia Tutors taught me to achieve SAT (and academic) scores.
Thanks to Sefia Tutors' guidance, I was accepted into 3 Ivy League schools (Harvard, Yale, and the University of Pennsylvania), along with Johns Hopkins, Tufts, Northeastern, Villanova, Rutgers, Drexel, and Union College. I also received a total of $2,890,796 in scholarships!
I am presently a rising junior at Harvard University, pursuing a concentration (Major) in Psychology and a secondary (Minor) in Computer Science.

Paul was my math instructor, who prepared me for the upcoming school years. Paul dedicated a lot of time to keep me engaged with the upcoming math concepts for each year and made sure that I was being challenged.
While I was receiving instructions from Paul I always appreciated his sharp analytical skills and his ability to articulate new concepts well. I want to say a huge thank you to Paul Sefia for the great impact he left on my life. Math was not my strong suit and it’s something that wasn’t my favorite subject to learn about. Paul helped me out and became my tutor.
At first, he was sticking to math but then Paul became more of a mentor to me. He walked me through every equation and helped me to better understand math through constant practice and perfection. Paul turned math into a passion for me rather than a chore.
I grew up in Harlem where it was hard to find someone to help out and take time out of their day to help out some kid with math. Paul was my math instructor during my time with the Our Children’s Foundation, Inc., a non-profit community organization. He helped in providing tutoring and guidance all throughout my high school years. His focus was to give his students a “leg up” on these math classes by teaching us the core problems and equations we were bound to see in our high school classes, but also for the SAT later down the road.
Each first session, Paul would present us with a series of problems and equations that we would be exposed to in our high school math classes. He would then spend each subsequent session going through the tips and tricks on how to solve these various problems and equations. This would culminate in a final session in which we would test ourselves against those original problems and see how far we have come.
I appreciated this approach to learning, and I appreciate the time and effort that Paul puts in not only tutoring but also to working with us on the areas that we struggle with the most.
I can wholeheartedly recommend Paul as someone who will challenge you, enlighten you, and be the ally that you need to get through whatever task lies in your path. Before I went to Sefia Tutors, I went to a commercial SAT tutoring program. The difference between the two is HUGE. In the commercial program the teaching was all generalized (every student did the same thing) and everything was very robotic.
