💡 Sefia Tutors is deliberately small. We are a husband-and-wife team, and the students who work with us are taught by the people whose names are on the business.
We built this from the parent side first
Before Sefia Tutors became the work we do every day, Paul and Lucy walked the SAT and college journey with our own daughters. That experience changed how we think about tutoring. Parents are not buying explanations to a few hard questions. They are trusting someone with a child, a goal, a deadline, nerves, and a future that feels very personal.
Two engineering minds, two different teaching lanes
Paul’s background is in Production Engineering and his lane is Math. Lucy’s background is in Chemical Engineering and her lane is Reading, Writing, and test strategy. Between tutoring and our professional backgrounds, we bring decades of problem solving to the same student plan from two angles.
Why we stay small
A small roster lets us notice things that are easy to miss in a larger system. We know when a student’s homework suddenly drops, when timing improves but accuracy falls, when confidence changes, and when the plan on paper no longer matches the child in front of us. Families work with us, not a call center or a rotating list of strangers.
Our oldest daughter, Leticia, went through Harvard, and our younger daughter went through Northeastern. Those outcomes matter to our family, but the larger lesson we carried into Sefia Tutors is that every child needs their own route. We do not try to turn every student into our daughters. We try to understand the student we actually have.
